VIA was founded by Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam in Manakadavu, near Pollachi, approved by Govt. of Tamil Nadu vide G.O.(MS) No.163 Agriculture (AU) Dept., Dt.31.07.2015. VIA and its B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture programme has been accredited by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. VIA is permanently affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore.
VIA aims at empowering youth as agricultural professionals who can uplift rural development through quality education, profound research and extension activities involving the farming community. We offer two programmes in agriculture; 4-year Bachelor Degree programme. The medium of instruction is English.
Apart from studies VIA exposed me to other options and gave me confidence to become a successful farmer and interactions with foreign buyers make me one of the largest insect protein manufacturer in India.
VIAs ambience nudged me to work hard for my passion. The faculties were kind and supportive enough throughout my degree program. Apart from academics VIA helped me a lot in gaining leadership skills. VIA is a perfect place to launch your dream missile.
Getting through VIA was one of the turning point in my life. More than college lectures and theories it taught and motivated me how to choose a better career path.

VIA was more of a family to me. I still remember the first day when I entered the campus, having no clue about how my career is going to be. I received extensive support from all the faculty members as I progressed. Learning in VIA was a 24x7 process. When I started preparing for CAT, the faculties offered me a lot of flexibilities in submission of assignments, specimens and projects. VIA has played a major role in shaping me personally as well as professionally.
